After being tattooed:

• Leave bandage on overnight. 

• Once bandage is removed wash tattoo 2-3 times with a mild, scentless soap and warm water, cleaning all ointment, blood, plasma off of tattoo.

• Pat dry with a clean towel

• Apply bandage provided by artist leave on 3-4 days

• If bandage was not given. Apply a small amount of unscented lotion or coconut oil on tattoo

• Apply lotion 1-2 more times during the day

For the following two to three weeks: 

• Gently wash your tattoo once a day with a mild soap. Pat dry with a clean towel.

• Apply lotion or coconut oil 2-3 times a day

• Your tattoo will start to scab. This is normal, and you have nothing to worry about. 

• DO NOT itch or pick your tattoo, soak, steam, sweat, swim etc., or expose the tattoo to the sun and tanning beds.

• DO NOT put sunscreen or Neosporin on the tattoo during the healing period. 

• FOLLOW YOUR ARTIST’S INSTRUCTIONS, NOT ANYONE ELSE’S! YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ITS CARE IN THESE NEXT WEEKS. TREAT YOURSELF RIGHT AND ALWAYS DRINK PLENTY OF WATER!
